Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has been assured by the coalition parties to support tough decisions while it has also been decided to complete the term of the government till 2023.
According to sources, a meeting of the coalition parties was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister in which important issues were discussed.
The meeting was also attended by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Asif Zardari, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Ministers Azam Nazir Tarar, Khawaja Asif, Saad Rafique and Maryam Aurangzeb.
According to sources, the allies decided that the government would complete its term by August 2023. The decision to complete the term was taken to revive the shattered economy.
The allies advised Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take immediate steps by the economic team to stabilize the economy.
The allies also suggested that the IMF program be finalized immediately to improve the economy.
At the same time, the coalition leaders pledged to support the government’s tough decisions for the betterment of the economy and said that they are with the government and will be with it in every decision.
Sources said that the decision of the Supreme Court on the presidential reference regarding the interpretation of Article 63A was also discussed during the meeting while the coalition parties expressed their determination to deal with the possible political crisis in Punjab.
During the meeting, it was decided to seek immediate legal opinion on the decision of the Supreme Court.
The meeting also decided to complete the electoral reforms for the forthcoming elections soon.
