PSX Recovers Marginally After Weak Opening as Selling Pressure Persists

The PSX benchmark KSE-100 Index recovers slightly amid continued selling pressure.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) opened lower on Monday as fragile investor sentiment and selling pressure across key sectors weighed on the market. However, the benchmark index later recovered slightly and moved into positive territory.
The KSE-100 Index stood at 166,453.27 points, gaining 33.56 points, or 0.02%, from the previous close of 166,419.71 points.
Selling Pressure Weighs on Key Sectors
Selling activity affected several major sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, and oil marketing companies. As a result, pressure on these sectors limited the market’s upward momentum.

Meanwhile, the index recorded an intraday high of 166,698.46 points and a low of 165,918.34 points. This range reflected a volatile session as investors weighed buying opportunities against continued selling.
Trading Activity Remains Cautious
According to market highlights, trading volume reached 68.99 million shares, while the total traded value stood at Rs4.66 billion.
Despite recovering from its intraday low, the KSE-100 Index remained close to the previous session’s closing level. Overall, selling across major sectors offset gains elsewhere and kept investor sentiment cautious.
Market participants continued to monitor sector performance and broader economic indicators for clearer direction.
