IBA Karachi and AKU-IED Sign Partnership for School Management Series 2026–2027
School Management: IBA Karachi and AKU-IED sign an agreement to strengthen school leadership and management.
The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi and the Aga Khan University’s Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) have signed a Letter of Agreement (LoA) to jointly develop and deliver the School Management Series 2026–2027.
The partnership aims to strengthen leadership and management capabilities among school administrators. It also reflects both institutions’ commitment to improving educational leadership through collaboration and professional development.
Agreement Signed at AKU-IED
The signing ceremony took place at AKU-IED. Dr. Abdullah Z. Sheikh, Dean and Professor at IBA Karachi’s School of Business Studies, signed the agreement on behalf of IBA Karachi.
Dr. Farid Panjwani, Dean and Professor at AKU’s Institute for Educational Development, signed on behalf of Aga Khan University.

Several representatives from IBA Karachi attended the ceremony. They included Dr. Sahar Awan, Assistant Professor and Chairperson of the Management Department at IBA-SBS; Moeid Sultan, Director Finance; Naheed Merchant, Head of Legal Affairs and Secretary of the Board of Governors; and Fuad Mehdi, Head of Marketing and Communications. Faculty members from IBA Karachi also attended.
Dr. Tania Bubela, Provost and Vice President for Academics at Aga Khan University, joined the event virtually and delivered remarks of appreciation.
16-Week Programme to Develop School Leaders
The School Management Series will run for 16 weeks, from November 2026 to March 2027. Both institutions will jointly develop and deliver the programme.
It will focus on strengthening school leadership and management practices. The initiative aims to support school administrators in developing the skills needed to manage educational institutions effectively.
The programme will conclude with a closing ceremony and Leadership Showcase at IBA Karachi.
Strengthening Educational Leadership
The partnership brings together the institutions’ academic expertise to support professional development in school management.
Through this collaboration, IBA Karachi and AKU-IED aim to advance educational leadership and promote stronger management practices across schools. The initiative also highlights the role of academic partnerships in supporting the development of education professionals.
