KARACHI: Stronger UAE-Pakistan trade and investment cooperation could unlock significant opportunities across commerce, industry, real estate, technology, logistics and tourism, UAE businessman Suhail Muhammad Al Zarooni has said.
Chairman of Al Zarooni Group, Al Zarooni made the remarks during his visit to Pakistan, where he called for greater economic cooperation between the two countries.
He said stronger business-to-business connections, simpler investment procedures and better investor facilitation could increase bilateral trade and encourage more joint ventures.
Business Ties Need a Fresh Push
Al Zarooni said Pakistan and the UAE have considerable untapped potential in several sectors.
He called for new partnerships in trade, manufacturing, real estate, technology, logistics and tourism.

According to him, reducing unnecessary barriers for investors could encourage Emirati businesses to explore more opportunities in Pakistan.
He also stressed the importance of people-to-people connections in strengthening relations between the two countries.
Al Zarooni said Emirati citizens have a deep regard for Pakistan and its people. He urged both sides to focus on fraternity, mutual respect and constructive diplomacy.
He said the two countries share decades of close relations and should protect each other’s interests, dignity and sentiments.
Gulf Tourists Could Boost Pakistan’s Economy
Al Zarooni also urged Pakistan to make tourism from the Gulf region a greater priority.
He called for easier visa procedures, better tourism infrastructure and improved services for international visitors.
He recalled the 1980s, when Pakistan attracted visitors from the UAE and other Gulf countries. Many visitors invested in property and spent money across different parts of the Pakistani economy.
According to Al Zarooni, that activity supported local businesses, created employment and increased consumer spending.
He urged the Pakistani government to develop a dedicated tourism strategy targeting Gulf visitors and revive the economic opportunities associated with greater tourist arrivals.
Pakistan’s Natural Beauty Offers Investment Potential
Al Zarooni described Pakistan as an attractive destination for Emirati tourists and investors.
He highlighted the country’s mountains, valleys, coastal areas and historic landmarks as major tourism assets.
He said greater tourism exchanges could benefit both economies while bringing people from Pakistan and the UAE closer together.
Pakistan could also benefit from increased investment in hotels, resorts, transport, hospitality and related services if it successfully attracts more Gulf visitors.
Commitment to Pakistani Community
Al Zarooni reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of Pakistanis living in the UAE.
He also highlighted his philanthropic activities in Pakistan and said his relationship with the Pakistani people was based on respect, service and goodwill.
He urged both governments to maintain trust and positive diplomacy while expanding economic and people-to-people ties.
Greater cooperation in trade, investment and tourism, he said, could take UAE-Pakistan trade relations to a new level and create opportunities for businesses and communities in both countries.
