KARACHI, August 22, 2026: Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has urged Pakistani graduates to use education and technology to create opportunities rather than simply seek employment.

He made the remarks while attending the graduation ceremony of the Learning Resource Network (LRN) International Foundation Programme – Batch 2025 at Indus University as chief guest.

The governor congratulated the graduates, their parents and teachers. He said the ceremony marked the result of years of hard work, determination, prayers and guidance.

According to Nehal Hashmi, Pakistani youth possess exceptional talent, intelligence and determination. He said graduates were leaving the ceremony with more than certificates. They were also gaining new opportunities and responsibilities.

Education Must Build Problem-Solving Skills

The governor said education should go beyond earning a degree. True education, he explained, develops the ability to think critically, understand challenges and find practical solutions.

He described educated and responsible young people as Pakistan’s most valuable national asset. Therefore, he called for greater access to quality education, modern skills, research and employment opportunities.

Nehal Hashmi also praised international programmes such as LRN. He said such programmes connect Pakistani students with global education systems and expand their academic opportunities.

AI and Technology Changing the Future

The governor highlighted the growing importance of artificial intelligence, digital technology, robotics and research.

He said these technologies are rapidly transforming economies and societies around the world. Pakistan, he added, must prepare its young people for both current and future challenges.

Addressing the graduates, Nehal Hashmi encouraged them to become entrepreneurs and job creators.

“Do not just use technology; create technology,” he said.

He also stressed the importance of character. A degree, he said, demonstrates qualification, while character defines a person’s true identity.

Youth Will Lead Pakistan in 2047

The governor said Pakistan would celebrate its 100th anniversary of independence in 2047. By then, today’s graduates and young people would hold important positions across the country.

He urged them to prepare for that responsibility and contribute to a stronger, stable and developed Pakistan.

Nehal Hashmi also highlighted the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Digital Youth Hub. He said the initiative provides young people with access to scholarships, employment, loans and other opportunities.

He added that future prime ministers, presidents, governors, chief ministers, civil servants and experts would emerge from the country’s current generation.

The governor also referred to Pakistan’s history of national achievements. He mentioned Allama Iqbal’s vision for Pakistan and the country’s development of nuclear capabilities as examples of how collective determination can turn ambitious goals into reality.

Concluding his address, Nehal Hashmi told the graduates that Pakistan’s future depends on their abilities and choices.

He urged them to turn their dreams into reality, use their knowledge for national development and make Pakistan proud on the global stage.
