KARACHI, August 23, 2026: Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has urged people, particularly young Pakistanis, to make the teachings of Seerat-un-Nabi ? part of their everyday lives.

He made the remarks while addressing a Seerat-un-Nabi ? seminar at Governor House Karachi. Prominent Ulema, Mashaaikh, scholars, academics, teachers and other distinguished personalities attended the event.

Governor Nehal Hashmi described the Seerah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ? as a complete code of life. He said its teachings offer guidance to humanity and can help bring positive change to society.

He stressed that people should not limit the Seerah to reading and discussion. Instead, they should reflect its values through their character and conduct.

Character at the Heart of Seerah

The governor said Pakistani youth should learn the importance of character from the life of the Holy Prophet ?.

He noted that the people of Makkah called the Prophet ? As-Sadiq and Al-Amin even before the declaration of Prophethood. Society recognised his honesty and trustworthiness through his conduct.

Nehal Hashmi urged young people to develop character before seeking positions or authority. He said a position can provide power, but character earns credibility and trust.

He also highlighted the Seerah’s lessons on patience, justice, forgiveness, leadership and compassion. These values, he said, remain relevant when dealing with people from all sections of society.

Seerah Offers a Model for Society

The governor said the Holy Prophet ? established a society based on justice, trust and responsibility. He also emphasised the rights of families, neighbours, orphans, needy people and vulnerable communities.

According to him, laws should not remain confined to books. Their values should also appear in people’s behaviour and daily interactions.

Nehal Hashmi said love for the Holy Prophet ? should go beyond words. Compassion, patience and justice must become visible in everyday conduct, including interactions with those who hold different views.

He also recited verses by Allama Muhammad Iqbal in praise of the Holy Prophet ?.

Scholars Call for Seerah-Based Education

Earlier, Maulana Mufti Taqi Usmani stressed the importance of studying the Seerah through academic and intellectual approaches. He called for educational institutions to incorporate its teachings across different subjects.

Khursheed Ahmed Nadeem, Chairman of the National Rahmat-ul-lil-Alameen & Khatam-un-Nabiyyin Authority, said children should regard the Holy Prophet ? as their role model. He also urged teachers to make character building a central responsibility.

He said the authority had established Seerat-un-Nabi ? Clubs and Seerah Chairs at nine universities.

Other speakers also called for greater emphasis on tolerance, mutual respect and character development. Allama Syed Shahenshah Hussain Naqvi highlighted the need to teach young people patience and acceptance.

Former federal minister Haji Hanif Tayyab said society could overcome moral decline by sincerely following the Seerah. Qari Muhammad Usman called for the teachings of the Holy Quran to become part of everyday life.

Allama Syed Razi Jafar Naqvi urged authorities to include Seerah teachings in school, college and university curricula. Meanwhile, Dr. Syed Aziz-ur-Rehman proposed dedicated Seerah sections in educational institution libraries.

The seminar was also attended by Minister of State/Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Fahd Haroon, Principal Secretary to Governor Sindh Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman, Prime Minister Youth Programme Sindh Coordinator Dr. Fahad Shafiq and several other scholars and distinguished personalities.

At the conclusion, Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi thanked the participating Ulema, scholars and guests.
