Karachi — K-Electric’s wholly owned subsidiary KE Ventures Company Limited has appointed Adeeb Ahmad as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a strategic move to expand services beyond traditional utility operations.

Established in 2020, KE Ventures serves as the investment and innovation arm of K-Electric, focusing on developing solutions across the broader energy value chain. The appointment is part of KE’s broader vision to diversify into emerging sectors and enhance service offerings for Karachi’s residents and businesses.

The company has already deployed over PKR1.3 billion into its first flagship initiative, K-Solar, and is planning further investments in renewable energy, distributed generation, electric mobility, industrial infrastructure, technology solutions, and fintech services.

Chairman of the KE Ventures Board, Sameer Chishty, said the initiative reflects KE’s evolving role beyond electricity supply. “KE is about powering Karachi with reliable energy, while KE Ventures aims to build platforms and ecosystems that deliver innovation and value to customers, businesses, and government stakeholders,” he stated.

Newly appointed CEO Adeeb Ahmad said the company intends to leverage K-Electric’s infrastructure and market access to unlock opportunities across multiple sectors. He highlighted the potential for integrating new technologies and forming strategic partnerships with investors and operators to drive innovation.

“There is significant scope to develop advanced energy and technology solutions for Karachi’s future,” he said, adding that KE Ventures will focus on building scalable and sustainable platforms across industrial and consumer segments.

The move signals a shift toward a more diversified, technology-driven approach in addressing Karachi’s growing energy and infrastructure needs.
