Emirates to Hire 5,000 Cabin Crew Globally Amid Major Expansion Drive

DUBAI, June 17: Emirates Airlines has launched a large-scale global recruitment campaign to hire 5,000 new cabin crew members in 2025 as part of its continued global expansion. The Dubai-based carrier will conduct its recruitment drive across more than 460 cities on six continents, beginning with an invitation-only roadshow in Singapore on June 19, followed by another session on July 19.

In addition to cabin crew, Emirates is actively recruiting pilots, with plans to hire 1,550 pilots over the next two years — over 550 of whom are expected to join by the end of 2025. This aggressive hiring effort aligns with Emirates’ fleet expansion strategy. The airline recently added the Airbus A350-900 to its fleet, marking the first new aircraft model addition since 2008.

Emirates has also upgraded its Airbus A380 fleet, which now operates routes to cities such as Bangkok, Perth, and Hong Kong. The airline has recently launched new routes in Asia, including Da Nang (Vietnam), Shenzhen (China), and Siem Reap (Cambodia). To support future demand, Emirates has placed additional aircraft orders to further expand capacity and explore new destinations.

The recruitment drive follows the announcement that Singapore-based Jetstar Asia will cease operations on July 31, resulting in the layoff of over 500 staff. While Jetstar Asia’s closure will affect 16 regional routes, its parent company Qantas Group plans to redeploy 13 of its aircraft to domestic routes in Australia and New Zealand.

Efforts are underway in Singapore to assist affected Jetstar Asia employees, with opportunities being explored at Singapore Airlines, Scoot, and other expanding carriers in the region.

Emirates Group recently posted a record US$6.2 billion profit. Group Chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum credited the success to strong global demand and efficient management, affirming that the Group will continue investing in talent and innovation. He also confirmed that Emirates’ flagship A380 aircraft will remain in operation for at least the next decade, underlining the airline’s long-term commitment to premium air travel.

The airline’s ambitious hiring plans reflect its confidence in the sustained recovery and future growth of the global aviation industry.
