PISHIN/KARACHI, June 17: A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck Pishin and its surrounding areas in Balochistan on Tuesday, spreading fear among local residents. According to the Seismological Center, the epicenter was located 21 kilometers southeast of Pishin, at a depth of 12 kilometers. While no immediate casualties or property damage were reported, the tremors caused widespread panic, with people seen rushing out of their homes and reciting the Kalima Tayyaba.
Separately, multiple low-intensity tremors were felt in Karachi on Monday. The first, with a magnitude of 2.5, and the second, measuring 2.6, had their epicenter near DHA City at a depth of approximately 40 kilometers. The tremors led to brief panic in several areas, with residents quickly evacuating buildings.
It is notable that since June 1, Karachi has experienced a total of 42 tremors, raising concerns among citizens and experts alike about increasing seismic activity in the region.
