World: India has responded strongly to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei after he criticized the treatment of Muslims in India.
Khamenei posted on social media that Muslims around the world, including those in India, Myanmar, and Gaza, are suffering, and he suggested that Muslims should care about these issues.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs called Khamenei’s comments “misinformed and unacceptable.” They said countries should focus on their own human rights issues before commenting on others.
Even though India and Iran usually have a good relationship, they have had disagreements before, especially regarding how India handles minority groups. India’s response highlights the ongoing tensions and sensitivities related to minority rights and international criticism.
