The Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Arsenio Dominguez, has arrived in Pakistan for a special three-day visit. His trip includes attending a significant conference and exhibition organized by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs. The events will kick off in Islamabad on September 12, and then move to Karachi on September 13 and 14.
This visit marks a historic first, as it is the very first time an IMO Secretary-General has come to Pakistan. During his stay, Dominguez will meet with the President, Prime Minister, and Chief of Naval Staff to discuss key maritime issues.
Upon arriving at Islamabad Airport, Dominguez was warmly welcomed by officials from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and other dignitaries. Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaisar Ahmed Sheikh, expressed pride in this landmark occasion, highlighting its importance for Pakistan’s maritime industry and extending a heartfelt welcome to the IMO Secretary-General.
