Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, in partnership with the Sindh Culture Department and Visionary Art Alliance, recently unveiled the “Hundred Heroes” exhibition at Ahmed Parvez Art Gallery. Curated by artist Saher Shah Rizvi, the exhibit pays tribute to 100 prominent Pakistani figures through her evocative portraits.

Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, the Provincial Minister of Culture, Tourism, Antiquities, and Archives, inaugurated the exhibition, joined by Rizvi and fellow artist Farrukh Shahab. Shah commended Rizvi’s use of Sindhi Ajrak in her artwork, which highlights heroes from both Sindh and Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of cultural preservation and encouraged youth involvement in cultural exchanges.

Shah also praised Rizvi’s efforts to use art as a medium for peace and understanding. He announced plans to support emerging Sindhi artists through talent hunts.

Rizvi reflected on her five-year journey to create this tribute and thanked the Arts Council for their support. She noted that this is the first time such a comprehensive collection of portraits has been shown together in Pakistan.

The exhibition features portraits of iconic figures, including Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Fatima Jinnah, Allama Iqbal, and Abdul Sattar Edhi, offering a unique celebration of Pakistan’s heroes.
