Apia: In an extraordinary T20I moment, Samoa’s Darius Visser has set a new record by scoring 39 runs in a single over against Vanuatu at the T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Region Qualifier in Apia. Visser smashed six sixes in the over, breaking the previous record of 36 runs set five times before.
The over, bowled by Vanuatu’s Nalin Nipiko, featured three no-balls. Visser launched the first three deliveries for sixes over deep mid-wicket and continued his onslaught with another six off the next no-ball. The over also included a dot ball and another six, demonstrating his incredible hitting power.
Beyond this impressive feat, Visser scored 132 runs out of Samoa’s total of 174, setting a new record for the highest percentage of runs in a T20I innings at 75.86%. His performance also includes the most sixes in a T20I innings for a Samoa batter.
