Karachi: Leading industrialist Zulfiqar Ahmed has gone missing and the police have registered a case in this particular incident under the kidnapping section.
The accident took place on Mauripur Road of Karachi and the business people and the public have been shocked.
As per the police statement, they have filed a case on the complaint of the manager of the textile mill where Zulfiqar Ahmed was last seen. The identity of the plaintiff has not been disclosed and it has given a vivid description of the kidnap.
The FIR cites that Zulfiqar Ahmed was on his way to Clifton in a car from his textile mill along with a friend when the car without a number plate stopped them on Mauripur Road. Two masked people, pointing at guns, forced both men into the automobile.
Some days later the culprits escaped after setting free Ahmed’s friend while retaining Zulfiqar Ahmed. The plaintiff also said that he saw that Ahmed had a mobile phone, which had been switched off since the incident.
On Thursday, the Sindh High Court accepted a petition demanding the return of Zulfiqar Ahmed from Saudi Arabia and instructed the federal and provincial law officers, Sindh’s inspector general of police, and others to file their responses.
They claim that their husband was a successful businessman and a managing director of textile manufacturing and oil companies. In her statement, she said that on July 23, Ahmed went to his office with his friend namely Qaiser. Before getting to Agra Taj Colony, they were attacked by armed unknown men in a double-cabin car and taken to an unknown location. Still, Qaiser was let out for the road later on.
Anber stated that the family called the police and other departments to find out what had happened to Ahmed and whether he had been arrested or detained but no one could provide any information.
According to the petitioner’s counsel, the family attempted to report the case to the Kalri police station to file an FIR, but the police did not register the complaint.
