KARACHI: a book donation ceremony of “Read Japan Project” took place at the Department of Area Study Centre Far East & Southeast Asia – University of Sindh. The project was organized by the Nippon Foundation and the Consulate General of?Japan in Karachi.
? The donated books encompassed a wide array of subjects including politics, international relations, economics, business, society, culture, literature, and history. The project’s goal is to offer diverse collection of Japanese books in English language to educational and research institutions worldwide. Moreover, this initiative serves to foster a better understanding of Japan and enhance the interaction and educational exchanges among scholars both within the region and beyond.

? Mr. HATTORI Masaru, Consul General of Japan in Karachi, introduced the book donation project, provided an overview of the history of Japan-Pakistan relations, and expressed his keen interest in further enhancing the relationship between the Consulate and the University of Sindh.
At the ceremony, Dr Mukesh Kumar Khatwani, Director Department of Area Study Centre Far East & Southeast Asia, Mr Murtaza Khoso, Assistant Professor and Japan Research Director and MEXT Scholarship Alumni graced the occasion with their presence. They expressed their appreciation for the generous donation by the Nippon Foundation and delivered speeches to that effect.
