Pakistan American Business and Professional Association, along with other community organizations, hosted a grand Iftar dinner for thousands of Muslims in collaboration with the local hotel, Marriott Sugarland. The event, held at Fort Bend County in the Marriott Sugarland, was attended by over 1,500 individuals, including American elected representatives, government officials, Muslims, and other community members.
Congressman Eric Figgins, Fort Bend County Sheriff, and the Consul General of Pakistan graced the grand Iftar dinner with their presence. The coordinator for the dinner, Haroon Mughal, and Co-Host PABPA’s President Sara Khan, were praised for their efforts, and Congress’s appreciation was also presented.
Speaking at the event, Beverly Walker, Fort Bend county, and State Representative Ron Reynold emphasized America’s role in promoting peace and highlighted Islam’s teachings of peace and brotherhood.
This marked the first time in American history that an official county event hosted a grand Iftar dinner for thousands of Muslims, showcasing the harmony between different communities and religions. The Consul General hailed the dinner as a splendid example of interfaith harmony.
Fort Bend County Sheriff expressed his joy at the inclusion of Muslims, and others congratulated the organizers for their efforts in promoting interfaith harmony through the grand Iftar dinner.
