Karachi: Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Salim Rajput has said that the government is taking great steps for the promotion of literature and culture. Organized by the Sakinan-e-Shahar-e-Quaid in Karachi, holding a regular international Mushaira in the city every year is important in terms of the promotion of Urdu poetry and literature. And there is a positive effort, such efforts should continue. He was talking to the delegation that met him in his office on Tuesday March 26th 2024 under the leadership of the chief organizer of Sakinan-e-Shahar-e-Quaid Mahmood Ahmad Khan. On this occasion, Khalid Jameel Shamsi, Nadeem Zafar Siddiqui, Toqeer A. Khan, Dr. Shabbir Arain and Jamal Azhar were among the members of the delegation. The commissioner was told that this year the International Mushaira will be held in Karachi on April 20th at the Expo Centre. Famous local and foreign poets will participate in the Mushaira.
A large number of poets are expected to participate in the Mushaira. Apart from Karachi, poets from different cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Azad Kashmir, Bahawalpur, Abbottabad and Gwadar are being invited to participate in the mushaira. Poets from America, Britain, Germany, Canada, Bahrain and Qatar are expected to participate in the Mushaira. Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Saleem Rajput said that the tradition of organizing international mushaira in Karachi has strengthened the government’s policy of promoting cultural, literary, cultural and positive activities in the city. This type of efforts should continue. The administration will provide all possible support for the success of the Mushaira organized by the residents of Sakinan-e-Shahar-e-Quaid. He said that the government has provided ample opportunities for the promotion of literary and cultural activities in Karachi. He said that Karachi has become a role model for the whole country in terms of literature and cultural.
