Karachi – The Chairman and Founder of the Pakistan Business Group Organization, Faraz ur Rahman, emphasised the need for clarification in the Local Government Act, urging the new federal government to endorse it. He stated that Karachi, also known as the Mini Pakistan, deserves special attention from the federal government.
Farrukh Rahman expressed that it’s time to kickstart economic revival from the very city where Pakistan’s journey begins. Fundamental reforms are necessary to empower local government institutions and enhance their role in national development. He highlighted that resolving Karachi’s issues has become extremely complex over time. It’s neither an immediate nor a single-party matter; it requires collective efforts from all political parties. Some individuals hold control over resources; funds from international awards don’t trickle down, making local governments indispensable for Karachi’s and other cities’ development. The business community is disheartened due to the country’s economic conditions, including inflation, energy prices, taxes, security risks, and political instability.
