KARACHI : Sadia Rashid, President of the Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, paid glowing tribute to Maulana Zafar Ali Khan and said he was a courageous and outspoken journalist, poet and leader who rendered matchless services to unify the nation and for the cause of independence of Pakistan. She was addressing the monthly meeting of Hamdard Naunehal Assembly titled: “Maulana Zafar Ali Khan the leader of Pakistan Movement”, held yesterday at Bait-ul-Hikmah Auditorium, Madinat al-Hikmah. Renowned journalist, writer and teacher Dr.Auj-e-Kamal attended the proceedings as chief guest.


Ms. Sadia Rashid expressed that Maulana Zafar Ali Khan was a devoted patriot and a sincere well-wisher of the nation. Throughout his life, he committed himself to the rights and freedom of Muslims, envisioning a promising future for the country and its people in the youth of Pakistan.In his message to the younger generation, Maulana Zafar Ali Khan emphasized that the progress and security of Pakistan hinge on the shoulders of the youth. Therefore, youngsters must possess a combination of education, skills, patriotism and a sense of duty for the betterment of Pakistan.
She advised the youth to align with Maulana Zafar Ali Khan’s ideals, prioritize education, foster national unity through courteous and dignified conduct, aiming for Pakistan to stand as a beacon globally. Children must exhibit honesty in both speech and actions, staying mindful of their rights, duties, and adherence to the law.
Dr. Auj-e-Kamal said that Maulana Zafar Ali Khan, regarded as the father of journalism, was dedicated to upholding the principles of Islam. As an outspoken and honest journalist and thinker, throughout his life he championed truth.Transferring the knowledge of achievements to future generations is our duty. Ms. Sadia Rashid is actively shouldering this national responsibility by arranging meaningful events and meetings such as Naunehal Assembly. Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said initiated a series of intellectual training for the cultivation of young minds. In his editorial for the monthly Hamdard Naunehal, he consistently maintained a flame of courage and hope, illuminating the path for the newer generations. He imparted the lesson that individuals with the determination to face challenges inevitably find success.
The chief guest commended the young speakers, expressing satisfaction at the accurate pronunciation and usage of seldom-used words in their speeches. He remarked that witnessing this proficiency filled him with assurance about the promising future of Urdu.
Speakers from various schools shared their perspectives on the subject and paid homage to Maulana Zafar Ali Khan. Armin Khan, the Speaker of the Hamdard Naunehal Assembly and a student of Hamdard Public School, presided over the meeting. Students of PNG Secondary School presented a tableau, and Dua-i-Said was offered by students of Hamdard Public School and Hamdard Village School.
