501 Degrees Awarded at the 17th Convocation of Greenwich University

January 17, 2026 Karachi: A total of 501 students were awarded degrees in various disciplines at the 17th Convocation of Greenwich University, held at the Governor House, Karachi. The graduating class included 362 undergraduates, 82 graduates, and 57 postgraduates.

Gold Medals were awarded to 35 students in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.

The theme of the convocation, “Fasal-e-Gul,” symbolizes renewal and growth, and aims to rejuvenate a positive image of our beloved country among the youth.

At the convocation, honorary degrees (Honoris Causa) were conferred upon Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, owner of Brookes Pharma; Senator Sarmad Ali, President of APNS and Managing Director of the Jang & Geo Group; Jerjees Seja, CEO of ARY Digital Network; and Zafar Masud, CEO of the Bank of Punjab, in recognition of their remarkable contributions to their respective fields.

On this occasion, gold medals were given to the Consul Generals of various countries.

The Sindh Governor, Kamran Tessori, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. While congratulating the graduates, he stated that the nation looks to its youth for future progress and development. He appreciated the efforts of Greenwich University in promoting academic excellence, building leadership skills, and preparing students for the challenges of the modern world.

The Chancellor of Greenwich University, Dr. Seema Mughal, in her address, said that for four decades the university has remained committed to education by continuously evolving, adapting, and serving generations of students. She highlighted that the university has carried out extensive work in sustainable development across social, economic, and environmental domains at national, regional, and global levels.

Dr. Seema Mughal further remarked that behind every graduate standing there are years of patience, sacrifice, prayers, and unconditional support from their parents, whose role is fundamental in shaping the success of their children.
