Khairpur – The 5 th Youth Literature Festival-2023 was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur jointly
organized by the Retract Club Sachal Sarmast Khairpur and Students Societies Centre. Prof. Dr.
Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor presided the event. Four Dialogues were held during the
festival.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that it is high time that the
youth should strive to follow the best practices of our ancestor especially the youth may follow
the path of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (R.A) who is symbolic poet of love, peace and
harmony. His message for youth is to strive for better way. He said we have provided a viable
platform at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur to groom the youth. This is the glaring
example for organizing 5 th Youth Literature Festival.
The first dialogue was held on “Shaping the Future, Empowering Women, Education and
Career”. Prof. Dr. Agha Nadia, Director Institute of Gender Studies and Ms. Paras Khaskheli,
Assistant Professor, Institute of English were the panelist. The panelists said that it is the need of
the time to set agenda for the women empowerment on multilateral directions i.e. economic
empowerment, education, right of vote, provide conducive environment at workplace,
participation in political process and power sharing.
The second dialogue was held on “Role of Higher Education in Nation Building”. Prof. Dr. Taj
Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Mr. Muhammad Hassan Shaikh, Assistant
Professor, Institute of English and Dr. Asad Ali Malik from Mehran University of Engineering &
Technology, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Campus, Khairpur were the panelists. They said that
higher education could shape the future of the youth, provide them directions to move forward
for science & technology, peace building, tolerance and national cohesion. They stressed the
participants that they must contribute positively for state building and for national integration.
The third dialogue was held on “The Message in the Poetry of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai
(R.A) for Today’s Youth”. Renowned Broadcaster and Eminent Poet Mr. Mukhtiar Ali Malik and
Dr. Mahar Khadim, Chairman, Department of Sindhi were the panelists. They said the poetry of
Shah Latif reflects the soft message for our youth to follow the path of struggle and strive to
attain their destination with vigor because the content of Shah Jo Risalo is a remarkable
guideline for youth and there is diversity in the poetry of Shah Latif. The poetry is also source of
inspiration to avail the goals of life.
The fourth dialogue was held on “Freelancing and E-Commerce for Youth”. Dr. Irfan Ali Mangi
and Ms. Nayab were the panelists. They said that youth can earn through freelancing and e-
commerce as result it will minimize unemployment. They said that the positive use of
technology is the need of the time.
Dr. Ali Raza Lashari, Incharge Students Societies Centre, Ms. Arfa Qazi, Mr. Raheel Haider
Burdi, Ms. Ifra Khan, Ms. Virsa and Ms. Nimra were the moderators of dialogues. The
certificates and shields were presented to the panelists and participants.
Mr. Tahir Yousuf, President, Retract Club Sachal Sarmast Khairpur, Mr. Shafique Ahmed Larik,
Vice President, Retract Club Sachal Sarmast Khairpur, Mr. Zohaib Shafqat Memon, Secretary to
Vice Chancellor, Advocate Tarique Yousuf Kurio, Mr. Hamadullah Maitlo, Mr. Imran Ali Abro
and large number of Faculty Members and Students attended the dialogues.
