Islamabad: Former Director General of Intelligence Bureau Aftab Sultan has been appointed as Chairman NAB.
According to GNN, a federal cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in which various issues were discussed.
In the federal cabinet meeting, Aftab Sultan was given official approval to appoint the new chairman of NAB.
It should be noted that Aftab Sultan belonged to the police service, he has held high positions in the police and also served as Director General of IB.
Hailing from Faisalabad, Aftab Sultan graduated in law from Punjab University, later obtained an LLM from Cambridge University and an MSc in Philosophy of Law and Legal Studies from Edinburgh University.
Aftab Sultan started his police career in 1977 as ASP Punjab Police.
Aftab Sultan was posted as DIG Sargodha in 2002 during Pervez Musharraf’s regime.
Aftab Sultan was appointed IG Punjab during the 2013 general elections.
Aftab Sultan has been the head of the Intelligence Bureau during the tenure of Muslim League (N) and PPP.
