ISPR, the Pakistan Army’s public relations department, says efforts are being made to drag the armed forces into political talks.
A statement issued by the ISPR said that the forces should be kept away from political dialogue in the best interest of the country.
A spokesman for the Pakistan Army said, “Everyone is expected to abide by the law. Unconfirmed provocative statements are extremely harmful.”
ISPR says there have been deliberate attempts to drag the Pakistan Army and leadership into political affairs, with some political figures, some journalists and analysts dragging forces into politics on social media and other forums.
The ISPR said that defamatory and provocative statements contrary to reality are very harmful, in the best interest of the country the armed forces should be kept away from such illegal and immoral acts.
