Adult education; adult education is an education which is given to the adults or grown up people of a country. In different forms it generally means teaching and educated adults; how to read and write but it also means teaching them the ways of working efficiently in their different professions and places of work.
It may also mean teaching them better ways of living, enjoying life and for making use of their time. Adult education is necessary in a country; about 75% of adults are uneducated and illiterate. They cannot easily learn new ways of doing work in their different professions consequently they cannot easily progress for earning much.
Through proper adult education, working people can become more useful for the society and the country. They can serve the nation well by learning better ways of working on their jobs. Educated people can easily learn ways of working on new machines and they can read books about the different techniques of production.
They can learn efficient industrial work and then increase the production of the country, as when they will work well so they will be able to get higher.
Educated farmers can easily learn new and better ways for cultivating their fields and growing crops. Check and learn to use and repair practice harvesters tube well engines and other farm machines. They will know and understand their rights and duties and the laws of the country much better than uneducated people.
They can read newspaper and magazines and can learn about the social and natural problems. They can discuss the political social and economic aims of the government and the programs of political parties. The provincial assemblies, educationalist, social workers and economic experts should discuss the way of educating the common people in the mass media and then they should formulate a national adult education plan.
The central and provincial government can pool their resources to make it a source, make it a success and international education can plan to set up literacy centers in every part of the country. All kind of buildings like those of schools, factories, City government halls, hotels, restaurants and government offices can be used as temporary structures for teaching.
Education can be divided into different categories; teaching the people how to read and write, religious education, professional education to make the people better workers, social education to make them better citizens and so on women can be especially educated in other fields for example in sewing, cooking and looking after their children.
