BYD Energy Storage Expands Global After-Sales Network for Battery Storage Systems

BYD Energy Global service centres support battery energy storage operations, maintenance and technical assistance.
BYD Energy Storage is expanding its global after-sales service network to support the growing deployment of battery energy storage systems (BESS). The company operates a multi-tier service framework covering station operations and maintenance, project service centres, regional centres and global headquarters.
The network aims to provide customers with reliable technical assistance, faster repairs and long-term operational support for energy storage assets.
Nine Global Service Centres Provide 24/7 Support
BYD Energy Storage operates nine global operations and maintenance (O&M) centres across China, Chile, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Japan, Poland and the Middle East.
Each centre covers approximately 2,500 square metres. The facilities manage spare parts, battery repairs and maintenance, regional parts distribution, battery recycling and training for locally recruited engineers.
Pakistan Has Beaten Poverty Before. It Can Do It Again
The company plans to open additional service centres in South Africa and Bulgaria in 2027. These facilities will further expand its international service coverage.
Standardised Response Times and Technical Support
BYD Energy Storage said its regional centres comply with local regulatory requirements and provide structured workforce training. The centres also coordinate rapid on-site technical assistance.
The company’s professional service team includes more than 200 field engineers and over 100 research and development specialists.
BYD has established standard service-level targets for responding to customer issues. These include an initial response within 24 hours, on-site arrival within 48 hours and fault troubleshooting within seven days.
The company also operates a distributed spare-parts supply network to support faster deliveries across different markets.
Localised Repairs Support Long-Term Operations
BYD Energy Storage combines its global service infrastructure with local resources to improve after-sales support. Its O&M teams work with regional operations and localised production lines to provide battery repair services closer to customers.
This approach aims to reduce service delays and make maintenance more convenient for operators. It also supports the long-term performance and reliability of battery energy storage installations.
“Our global service footprint is tailored to our fast-growing BESS deployments. Trustworthy after-sales support underpins the long-term stable operation of energy storage assets,” said He Dehong, Head of Global After-sales Service at BYD Energy Storage.
Supporting Global Battery Energy Storage Growth
BYD Energy Storage said its global O&M system supports its broader goal of delivering digital and intelligent services to the energy storage industry.
According to the company, it ranked first globally in battery energy storage system shipments in 2025, with shipments exceeding 60 gigawatt-hours (GWh). It has also delivered more than 650 energy storage projects worldwide.
The company said its standardised service processes and local support infrastructure help maintain reliable operations across its growing project portfolio.
As demand for battery storage expands, after-sales service, spare-parts availability and timely technical support are becoming important factors in maintaining the performance of energy storage assets.
