Sharjeel Memon Urges Fazlur Rehman to Take Clear Stance Against Terrorism

Sharjeel Memon calls for a clear stance against terrorism amid debate over governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has expressed disappointment over recent remarks by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. He said the veteran politician had also faced terrorism and should take an unambiguous stance against it.
Memon said his own party had suffered from terrorist violence. Therefore, he hoped Maulana Fazlur Rehman would clearly condemn terrorism.
Memon Criticises PTI’s Approach to Terrorism
The Sindh minister also criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over its approach to militancy. He alleged that the party had shown leniency towards terrorists and linked this stance to the loss of its government.
Shehbaz Sharif Defends Emergency in KP, Says Government Had No Other Option
Memon said innocent people continued to lose their lives in terrorist attacks. He also referred to the sacrifices of young security personnel.
Furthermore, he criticised PTI founder Imran Khan over past remarks about opening offices for militants. Memon argued that PTI was now facing the consequences of its own decisions.
KP Governor Expresses Disappointment
Separately, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi criticised Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s recent speech. He also disagreed with the JUI-F chief’s position on imposing governor’s rule in the province.
Speaking to journalists in Peshawar, Kundi said he had expected a different response from a senior political leader. He expressed disappointment over the remarks delivered a day earlier.
The governor also maintained that the provincial government could be formed and run without Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s support.
The statements reflect continuing political disagreements over governor’s rule in KP and the response to terrorism. The debate has drawn criticism from senior figures in both provincial and federal politics.
