KP Police: Governor Faisal Karim Kundi announces expanded salaries and welfare support for police personnel and martyrs’ families
PESHAWAR, October 15, 2026: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has announced plans to increase police salaries, compensation for martyrs and injured personnel, and other welfare benefits. He said the revised salary package for police personnel would exceed expectations and stressed that KP police salaries should be better than those offered in other provinces.
He made the announcement while addressing a ceremony at Governor House, Peshawar, where he distributed plot allotment letters among the families of police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Advisory Council, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Dr. Muhammad Fakhr Alam Irfan, Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed, police officers and families of the martyrs.
During the event, Kundi distributed plot allotment letters to the families of 54 police martyrs, ranging from constables to deputy superintendents of police (DSPs).
Increased Compensation and Housing Assistance
The governor announced that compensation for police martyrs and personnel injured while performing their duties would be increased.
He also announced financial assistance to help the children of police martyrs purchase homes instead of receiving plots. In addition, a special financial support package will be introduced for families whose parents, spouses, children or siblings are killed in terrorist incidents involving police personnel.
Kundi said financial assistance would also be extended to the families of police personnel who die for reasons other than terrorism, police encounters or law-and-order duties.
He further announced approval for a special gift for the daughters of police martyrs on their marriages, as part of efforts to strengthen support for bereaved families.
Free Education for Children of Police Martyrs
The governor directed the relevant authorities to establish an effective mechanism for providing free education to the children of police martyrs.
He suggested that the initiative should be organised with the support of Sweet Homes, under the patronage of Zamurd Khan, and through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes operated by banks.
Kundi emphasised that the children of police martyrs deserved continued institutional support to secure their education and future prospects.
