Chairing a high-level meeting on energy sector reforms, the premier emphasised the need to reduce the financial burden on both domestic and industrial electricity users. He instructed officials to take concrete steps to achieve meaningful tariff stability while ensuring affordability.

The prime minister also highlighted the urgent need to upgrade the country’s power transmission system to minimise line losses and improve overall efficiency. Stressing modernisation, he called for the adoption of advanced technologies and the promotion of renewable energy projects to help address Pakistan’s ongoing energy challenges.

In addition, PM Shehbaz directed authorities to enhance digital facilities, making electricity bill payments more accessible and convenient for consumers. He reiterated that strict action against electricity theft must continue, underscoring its impact on the national economy.

The premier noted that uninterrupted energy supply is critical for industrial growth and economic stability, adding that consumer relief remains a top government priority. He assured that reforms in the energy sector would be implemented while safeguarding the interests of both the public and industry.

The meeting was attended by senior cabinet members, including Ishaq Dar, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ahad Khan Cheema, Attaullah Tarar, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Ali Pervaiz Malik, Bilal Azhar Kayani, and Haroon Akhtar, along with senior officials from relevant institutions.
