Commonwealth Businesswomen's Network Announces Appointment of Safeer Ul Hak as Coordinator, Entrepreneur Ecosystems

The Commonwealth Businesswomens Network (CBWN), an internationally accredited organisation dedicated to advancing women in leadership and fostering womens economic empowerment across the Commonwealth, is pleased to announce the appointment of Safeer Ul Hak as Coordinator, Entrepreneur Ecosystems, effective immediately upon notice.

In a letter signed by Arif Zaman, Executive Director of CBWN, Mr. Hak’s extensive experience and expertise have been recognised as invaluable assets to CBWN’s mission of strengthening trade and investment within the Commonwealth. The appointment is a voluntary, pro bono position, reflecting CBWN’s commitment to leveraging skilled professionals for business development and support initiatives.

The role will focus on supporting CBWN’s entrepreneur ecosystems partnerships, including engagements directed by the Executive Director such as the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. This appointment aligns with CBWN’s strategic objectives under the Commonwealth Secretariat’s new Strategic Plan 2025 2030, “Building a More Resilient Commonwealth”, adopted by Commonwealth Governments in September 2025. The plan outlines a roadmap structured around three core pillars – Democratic, Economic, and Environmental resilience – with a headline target of expanding intra?Commonwealth trade from US$768 billion in 2021 to US$2 trillion.

CBWN is one of only two accredited organisations working specifically on women’s economic empowerment and sits on the Commonwealth Working Group on Trade and Investment (WGTI), which is tasked with operationalising initiatives to achieve the US$2 trillion intra?Commonwealth trade ambition.
