Houston teenager Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel, who has lived with cancer for almost eight years, has lost track of all the law enforcement agencies he’s joined, and for good reason.
Since President Donald Trump named him an honorary member of the U.S. Secret Service during a joint address to Congress almost a year ago, Daniel, 14, has become a nationally — and, in some cases — globally recognized figure touring police departments, hospitals and city halls. Daniel has had brain and spinal cancer since he was 6, but he hasn’t let that stop him from being sworn in at thousands of law enforcement agencies.
About 4,400 by his father’s count.
