Hollywood actress Jada Pinkett Smith has taken significant legal action against Bilal Salam, a former close friend of her husband Will Smith. According to court documents obtained by the British newspaper Daily Mail, the Scream 2 actress has asked a California court to dismiss a $3 million lawsuit filed by Bilal Salam in December 2025. In this lawsuit, Bilal alleged that Jedda threatened him at a hotel. In the new petition, Jada Pinkett Smith argued that Bilal Salam, a musician long associated with Will Smith, was actually trying to gain attention as part of an alleged public campaign against the Smith family. The court’s position stated that the plaintiff, without any evidence, claimed in interviews with the media that he personally witnessed Will Smith engaging in inappropriate sexual acts. The petition further stated that Bilal’s allegations were baseless, unsubstantiated and made for attention, and were intended to harass Jedda and her family. Jedda also argued in legal papers that she had the right to make a statement on a matter concerning her family that had become a center of public interest. The latest legal development comes after Bilal Salam claimed during a conversation on the podcast Unwine With Tasha K that he saw Will Smith in a questionable situation with actor Duane Martin. Bilal also alleged that he was asked to perform acts that he said were illegal, unethical or morally questionable. The musician further claimed that he could face “serious consequences” if he did not accept Jedda’s offer. Meanwhile, the application filed by Jedda also referred to her statement that she gave to American media outlet TMZ, in which she clearly said in response to Bilal’s allegations: “We are suing.”
