Karachi (April 7, 2025) Spokesperson UBG, Gulzar Firoz, congratulated the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, on the initiative to reduce electricity rates and said that he hopes that electricity rates will decrease further.
The government’s initiative to reduce electricity rates will reduce business costs and we will become competitive in the international market. Gulzar Firoz added that Pakistan will also suffer a setback like other countries due to the imposition of tariffs in the United States, but then the country will manage by making its own strategy. In this regard, we welcome the committee formed by the Prime Minister under the chairmanship of the Finance Minister.
He added that the government has taken the decision to reduce electricity rates based on the arguments of the leaders of the business community and the economy. The credit for the reduction in electricity tariffs goes entirely to the leaders of the business community, former minister Gohar Ijaz, SM Tanveer, Patron-in-Chief, UBG and Atif Ikram, President FPCCI. Whose tireless efforts led to this reduction, which will benefit both the industry and the public.
