Turin, Italy – It has been exactly one year since the passing of Gianni Minà, the acclaimed journalist, writer, and television host. Born in Turin in 1938, Minà died after a brief heart illness. Following a year without the Turin journalist, the Gianni Minà Foundation will soon make over sixty years of his life as a journalist accessible through a comprehensive online archive.

The platform will compile the film and paper heritage of the esteemed journalist. The website is poised to serve as a connecting hub for new generations, students, and educators alike, hosting a curated selection of documents extracted from the archive, all linked to specific themes covered by Minà during his illustrious career.

Today, at the Casa del Cinema in Rome, a groundbreaking project will be unveiled, offering online access to a plethora of short stories and numerous interviews conducted by the journalist. Among the many unpublished materials, a standout is the footage shot by Minà, the sole journalist present, at the 2005 World Social Forum in Porto Alegre. The event, which addressed social and ecological issues related to the exploitation of resources and peoples of the Global South, remarkably foreshadowed the current debates on the climate crisis, globalization, and inequalities.

The project stands as a testament to Minà’s enduring legacy and his profound impact on journalism. His work continues to inspire and educate, offering valuable insights into the pressing issues of our time.
