Turin: A new anthology, “Le torinesi ribelli” (The Rebel Women of Turin), curated by Loredana Cella and published by Neos Edizioni, celebrates the stories of nineteen remarkable women who defied societal norms and overcame obstacles in their respective fields.

From historical figures like Countess Adelaide of Savoy to lesser-known but equally inspiring women such as Maria Velleda Farnè, the anthology spans a range of eras and achievements. The collection highlights the contributions of women in various fields, from literature and art to science and sports.

The anthology aims to shed light on the often-overlooked accomplishments of women in Turin’s history. It features stories of women who challenged stereotypes and blazed trails, including pioneers like Alessandra Boarelli, the first woman to climb Monviso, and Helen Konig Scavini, the inventor of Lenci dolls.

Through these stories, the anthology seeks to inspire and empower women today, reminding them of the progress made and the challenges still faced in the journey towards gender equality.

The anthology will be presented at the Circolo dei Lettori in Turin on Monday, March 25, at 6:00 p.m., offering readers a glimpse into the lives of these extraordinary women and their impact on Turin’s history.
