WORLD TEACHERS DAY COMMEMORATED.

Khairpur : The World Teachers Day-2023 was commemorated at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur
jointly organized by University, Rotary Club Bhittai, Khairpur, Office of Research Innovation
Commercialization (ORIC) and others in order to pay tribute to the teaching fraternity. Prof. Dr.
Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided the
event while Prof. Dr. Tehmina Mangan, Vice Chancellor, Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women
University, Sukkur was the chief guest. Syed Muhammad Javed Sadiq, Former Advisor Public
Diplomacy, U.S Consulate, Karachi, Mr. Muhammad Dittal Kalhoro, CEO, SRSO, Sukkur and
Mr. Kabool Muhammad Khatian, Chairman Sindh Irrigation & Drainage Authority (SIDA) were
the guests of the honor.
Talking to the participants, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said teacher is a torch bearer in the
society. He teaches and builds character and good integrity of students. Dr. Ibupoto said that
there are five pillars in education system parents, teachers, students, society and government. If
there is integration between the mentioned pillars, the education system could be improved and
teachers could play their pivotal role in the nation building. He said teacher is the role model in
the society as result the good number of students could be produced.
Prof. Dr. Tehmina Mangan said that I am highly thankful to Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto
who invited me to address with teachers and students of this prestigious institution. She said this
day is a historic day to pay tribute to the teachers because teachers possess dignity and respect.
Currently, we are facing immense challenges but these could be redress and minimize with
competence and struggle. She said with the help of meritocracy, we can improve the standard of
education.
Mr. Javed Jabbar, Former Senator also shared his views on the significance of the day via
online. He appreciated the efforts of the incumbent Vice Chancellor for organizing this day. He
saluted and paid rich tribute to the teaching fraternity who is building the nation.

Syed Muhammad Javed Sadiq said the first teacher is mother than father and at the end teacher
who teaches in academic institutions. I remained inspired from the attitude of my father at home.
He said success inside than outside. Teacher has potency and power in the society. Perfect
teacher shares knowledge with students. He said teacher provides journey to destination.
Mr. Muhammad Dittal Kalhoro said with the quality teaching of good teachers, today I am
enjoying all luxurious facilities in my life. I am proud that I got my education from my talented
teachers despite rural setup. He lamented that the dropout ratio of students is increasing day by
day only 2% of students belonging to rural setup are availing higher education.
Mr. Kabool Muhammad Khatian said the students of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur
are vibrant and dynamic. It is the need of the time to create students’ friendly environment in the
learning process. He said students must device and design their goals to avail job opportunities.
He offered the students of this University to engage them in 60 days internship at SIDA to avail
training related courses.
Mr. Naseer Murad Shaikh, Civil Society Activist also shed light on the importance of the day.
He said the struggle of the teachers for the betterment of society is commendable.
Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences welcomed all the guests
and audience in the event. He said teaching is noble and sacred profession. It is the need of time
to revive the glory of the past to restore the dignity and respect of the teachers. Dr. Lashari said
that the entire progress in science and technology and other invention and research beneficial for
the community is the outcome of the teachers’ great effort.
Mr. Ayaz Hussain Mahesar from Rotary Club Bhittai Khairpur accorded vote of thanks. Mr.
Sarfaraz Ali Korejo, Assistant Professor, Institute of I.R conducted the proceedings of the
event. The cake cutting ceremony was also performed.
Mr. Muhammad Kamil Farooqui, Vice President, Sukkur Chamber of Commerce, Advocate
Rizwana Memon, Information Secretary Peoples Lawyer Forum, Sukkur, Mr. Ali Raza Bhagat,
President Rotary Club Bhittai Khairpur, Mr. Bashir Ahmed Mallah, Social Activists and a large
number of Faculty Members and Students attended the event.
