Karachi: Underconstruction sports complex in Houston will promote cricket and other games and healthy relations between Pakistan and USA. America Pakistan Business Development Forum will also invite Pakistani players in future.
It will promote sports between USA and Pakistan, Nawaid Isa
This was announced by the Pakistani-origin American Nawaid Isa, Managing Partner Isa Cricket Club Multisports Complex (ICCMC) and Founder President America Pakistan Business Development Forum while addressing a media briefing arranged by forum’s Pakistan Chapter here at a local hotel.
Famous former test cricketer Jalaluddin, Secretary General of forum for Pakistan Chapter Syed Nasser Wajahat, Akhtar Shaheen Rind, Secretary Corporate Affairs Syed Turab Shah, CEO AJ Group Syed Aminullah Hussain, Muhammad Kashif, Noorul Hasan and others were also present in the briefing.
Nawaid Isa told journalists that this AM-PAK BDF will take steps to promote game in both countries. I have purchased 10 acres land and started ICCMC project there in Houston. This sports complex has its own flood lights and we are already having matches there. More than 30 percent construction work is completed. We are planning to invite Pakistani players in future for game as well, he added.
This sports complex will also provide hundreds of jobs to Pakistanis specially. We have already named one of club houses of this complex after name of renowned businessman S.M. Munir, he told.
This is the first of its kind initiative done privately in USA. It will have gold driving range, banquet hall, full servied restaurants and extendable capacity of 1200 spectators in the stadium at present. This project will be completed by 2019 with a cost of US$7 million, Nawaid Isa added.
Speaking on this occasion, famous test cricketer Jalaluddin shared that he has already visited this sports complex and it has potential to be the hub for cricket and other sports. I am also planning to visit Houston more often from next year onwards. ICCMC project will help us to promote sports in both countries. I will also work there for cricket promotion, he added.
